Brief Definition and Benefits of Warrants:
A warrant
is a security issued by a company which gives the holder the
right, but not the obligation, to purchase the common shares
of the company at a specific price and which will expire on
a specific date in the future. Very similar to options,
except warrants will trade like common shares. The reason
and potential benefits of purchasing warrants is to increase
your leverage and get a much larger gain from the purchase
of warrants than with the common shares. You will learn more
this in our Learning Center.
